Having worked for 12 years in the automotive industry to Senior Management level with Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Japan, across Europe and 4 years for BMW in the UK and Germany. Andy has developed comprehensive understanding and ability to practically apply expertise in lean tools & techniques and leadership behaviours used in the Toyota Production System both in a Production and Maintenance environments.
Andy is a result focused and commercially aware individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Andy's multi sector experiences has provided him a solid background for leading manufacturing operations through the entire value stream – from product development through planning, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, delivery and after-sale support of complex products to both commercial and government customers, domestically and internationally. Trained in Lean Manufacturing by a Toyota Sensei, Andy has a strong track record of eliminating waste across both Service and Manufacturing Operations.
Andy has designed and delivered Performance Coaching programmes in Europe from Executive to Supervisor level for major corporations. He is a lead facilitator for the design and delivery of Lean Learning Academies and also supports the development of apprenticeship and graduate training programmes.
Over a 15 year period, Andy has detailed knowledge of TPM in Automotive Robotic / PLC machine lines and factory maintenance together with project management and performance improvements from high volume manufacturing.
Expertise in using Toyota Production System tools such as; Performance Visual management, 5S, Master Schedule, Standardised Work, Kaizen, W.I.S, P.P.S., P.D.C.A., TPM, Kamishibai and Concern, Containment & Countermeasure.
